Beware of Telephone Deception by Police Officers ！.

Today, in the Utsukushigaoka and Asahigaoka areas of Yotsukaido City, we received a phone call from a person who pretended to be a police officer and said, "We have arrested a suspicious person in this area."
The caller then said that the offender had a bad cash card and that he or she had been arrested. These calls are followed by the caller saying, "Your cash card has been misused. You need to replace your cash card." This call is expected to be a precursor to a scam to swindle you out of your cash card.
If the caller mentions money or cash cards, it is a scam.
If you receive a suspicious call, talk to a family member or the police.
Another effective measure is to always leave your landline phone on voicemail.
